About me
Why choose dr. Bourgeois?
Dr. Pieter Bourgeois is an experienced dermatologist who really listens to his patients and offers clear, effective solutions for complex skin problems. Many people choose him because of his deep knowledge in difficult and less common skin conditions, where he provides expert care that makes a real difference. His calm and thorough approach helps patients feel understood and well taken care of.
Specialism
He specializes in inflammatory skin diseases (such as eczema, psoriasis and autoimmune conditions), bullous skin disorders, infectious skin problems and tropical skin diseases. Thanks to his focus on these areas, he is especially strong in diagnosing and treating complicated or rare skin issues that are harder to manage.
His education and career
After completing his training as a dermatologist, dr. Bourgeois chose to focus mainly on inflammatory, autoimmune, infectious and tropical skin diseases. He gained a lot of practical experience over the years as a supervisor for doctors in training at the university hospital, where he could further build and share his expertise. He has worked in leading Belgian university hospitals, such as in Leuven and Antwerp, and has also been active in international settings, including in Tanzania and French Guiana. Today he combines his clinical work with teaching and research to stay at the forefront of dermatology.
