Couperose

Couperose is a skin condition where small blood vessels in the face dilate and become visible, causing red spots on the skin. It is most common on the cheeks, nose, forehead, and chin.

Symptoms

  • Redness on the face, especially on the cheeks, nose, forehead, and chin.
  • Visible small blood vessels (telangiectasia).
  • Sensitive skin, sometimes with a burning sensation.

Causes

  • Genetic factors: Familial predisposition increases the risk.
  • Age: More common in middle-aged and older individuals.
  • Skin type: People with fair skin are more susceptible.
  • Skin diseases: Rosacea can cause couperose.
  • Environmental factors: Exposure to extreme temperatures, strong winds, and sunlight can exacerbate couperose.

Diagnosis
A dermatologist can diagnose couperose by examining the skin and evaluating the symptoms.

Treatment

  • Laser therapy: Reduces the dilated blood vessels.
  • Medical creams: Reduce redness and inflammation.
  • Camouflage therapy: Special cosmetics to conceal redness.

Self-care Tips

  • Protect your skin from the sun with a high-SPF sunscreen.
  • Avoid extreme temperatures and rapid temperature changes.
  • Limit the consumption of alcohol and spicy foods.
  • Use gentle skincare products.

Other
Always consult a dermatologist or skin therapist to determine the best treatment options.

Consultation types

Walk-in Consultation

A walk-in consultation allows you to have a real-time video consultation with the doctor without a prior appointment. You will enter a virtual waiting room and the doctor will attend to you as soon as they are available.

E-mail advice

An email advice allows you to receive a professional assessment from a certified dermatologist via email within two working days. You will complete a questionnaire describing your skin concern, and the doctor will provide their evaluation and recommendations in writing.

Physical Consultation

A physical consultation involves an in-person visit to the doctor's clinic or designated location. You will have the opportunity to discuss your skin concerns face-to-face and receive a thorough examination and treatment plan.

Video Consultation

A video consultation enables you to have a remote appointment with the doctor via a secure video platform. This option provides convenience and flexibility, allowing you to discuss your skin concerns from the comfort of your own home.
