Milia (Milk Spots)

Milia, also known as milk spots, are small, hard, white bumps that often appear on the face. They are completely harmless and do not cause any pain.

Symptoms
The visible signs of milia are small, white, hard bumps around the eyes, cheeks, nose, and chin.

Causes
Milia occur when dead skin cells get trapped in small pockets at the skin surface. Genetic factors can play a role, but anyone can get milia, sometimes even in a scar after surgery.

Diagnosis
A dermatologist or skin doctor can usually diagnose milia by simply looking at the skin. In some cases, further investigation may be necessary.

Treatment
Milia often disappear on their own. A beautician or skin therapist can usually remove them.

Self-care Tips
To prevent milia, it is recommended to maintain good skin hygiene, use non-comedogenic products, and avoid excessive sun exposure.

Other
Milia can occur at any age and are generally completely harmless.

Consultation types

Walk-in Consultation

A walk-in consultation allows you to have a real-time video consultation with the doctor without a prior appointment. You will enter a virtual waiting room and the doctor will attend to you as soon as they are available.

E-mail advice

An email advice allows you to receive a professional assessment from a certified dermatologist via email within two working days. You will complete a questionnaire describing your skin concern, and the doctor will provide their evaluation and recommendations in writing.

Physical Consultation

A physical consultation involves an in-person visit to the doctor's clinic or designated location. You will have the opportunity to discuss your skin concerns face-to-face and receive a thorough examination and treatment plan.

Video Consultation

A video consultation enables you to have a remote appointment with the doctor via a secure video platform. This option provides convenience and flexibility, allowing you to discuss your skin concerns from the comfort of your own home.
